Ordering Information
Welcome to Up from the Ashes, your premiere source of accoutrements for modern fairy-tale creature.
All items are made and stored in a smoke-free, but pet-owned environment: I try to keep our two felines out of my workroom as much as possible, but cats are hardly the type to heed my orders.
Lead Time:
Currently, lead time for orders is two (2) weeks. Closer to Halloween, lead time will be close to 4 weeks, so please order in advance. If you have a specific deadline you want to meet (Wedding, Party, Holiday, other special event), please contact me to see if my schedule can accommodate your needs.
Please note: I try to keep my standard materials in stock, but please be aware that a material delay is possible. If that is the case, I will make you aware of the situation and adjust my schedule to complete your order(s) as soon as possible once materials are received.
Completely Custom order lead time will be negotiated in advance: it is determined by design time and material acquisition in addition to actual construction.
Payments:
I accept payments through Paypal and major Credit Cards. Pixie dust and Fairy Gold are not accepted currency-no exceptions. Your payment must clear before your order is shipped. Echecks through Paypal may take a few days to process, so I will send you a message with the estimated shipment date if there is a delay.
Shipping:
Please Note: Selecting overnight or express shipping will not guarantee you will receive your order the next day. The days represented by each method are transit times and do NOT include creation time. If you need any custom item in 5 days or less it may not be possible and will require express shipping. If you need any custom item in less than 10 days it may require express shipping. Please contact me to confirm the order can be filled before completing purchase that you need in a short amount of time.
Orders of ready-made items will ship in 48 hours of payment. Custom items will ship upon order completion and confirmation. Standard shipping is via USPS First Class or Priority mail with oversize items going Parcel Post. If you require expedited services via Express Mail, Fedex, or UPS, please let me know at check out so I can send an adjusted invoice to cover additional shipping costs.
All items are carefully packaged to prevent damage or breakage on their journey to your home. Jewelry will be boxed, if possible, and all items will be well cushioned with tissue paper, bubble wrap, air cushions or packaging peanuts. I recycle packaging material whenever possible, hence your box may contain an odd conglomeration of all the above. Up from the Ashes is not responsible for lost or damaged shipments. We take every precaution to ensure that we have addressed and packaged your item properly, but we cannot replace items that have been mutilated in transit.
Refunds and Exchanges:
Buyers have seven (7) days after receipt of an item to decide if they wish to return it. Custom orders that have been created to your measurements (example: custom costumes, special sized wings, one-of-a-kind wings) cannot be returned. All returns must be UNWORN and in the same condition in which they arrived (i.e. pristine!). I cannot accept returns on wings or masks that have been worn; it is unhygienic and I do not wish go down in history as the next Typhoid Mary.
Please contact me to let me know you wish to return an item: once I receive the item and confirm that it is in the same condition as when it left my workshop, I will process your refund, minus the original shipping fees. Customers are responsible for shipping fees on returned items.
International buyers are responsible for any custom fees or duties associated with their items.
If you are ordering a completely custom item that requires a deposit: please note that deposits are only refundable if for some reason I cannot complete the order. Deposits are used to purchase materials specifically for your order and are not refundable if you change your mind and decide you no longer want the custom item.
Completely Custom Orders:
Requests for completely custom orders are happily accepted as I do enjoy a challenge. Every item I make is custom to a degree based on your selections, but “completely custom” refers to creating something new and unique just for you. I will not copy another artist’s work, so please do not ask. But I will design costumes, wings or masks inspired by paintings or drawing. Please note that completely custom costumes and wings made to oversize or unique specifications are not returnable, so please be sure that your measurements are accurate.
Completely Custom orders under $100 must be paid in full prior to beginning work. Orders over $100 require a 50% materials deposit, to be paid prior to the start of any work. Deposits are used to purchase materials specifically for your order and are not refundable if you change your mind and decide you no longer want the completely custom item. After your acceptance of my price and lead time quote, an invoice requesting payment or deposit will be emailed to you. My clock starts as soon as payment is received. Please remember that custom orders are a contract: I promise to complete the desired work and you promise to complete the purchase once work is complete. I do my utmost to ensure your happiness, and will send you images of the completed item(s) for approval your prior to shipping
Wholesale Queries:
Due to the fact that all of my work is entirely handmade in a very time consuming process, I do not accept wholesale orders. I do, however, offer a quantity discount for larger orders:
If you order 5 to 14 pieces, your discount is 15%
If you order 15 to 29 pieces, your discount is 20%
If you order 30 to 49 pieces, your discount is 30%
If you order 50+ pieces, your discount is 40%
I do allow you to mix and match styles and colors. If, for example, you wanted 10 small fairy wings, you could pick how many you wanted of each style (I currently have six styles available) and what colors you would like them to be. You can send inquiries to me at firebird@upfromtheashespa.com - please include a description of item(s) you are interested in having made. A 50% deposit will be required for large orders using a quantity discount, with the balance due prior to shipping.
Discounts:
The Frequent Buyer Discount: in appreciation of my wonderful customers and collectors, you can earn discounts based on the total number of handmade items purchased. Once you reach a total of seven (7), you will be sent a discount code that entitles you to 15% off of all future purchases.
The Member Gallery Discount: Send me a picture, or link to a picture, of you wearing your handmade item from Up from the Ashes that I can add to my member photo gallery and you can earn a coupon for 10% off your next purchase. Be sure to include your name and website (if applicable) for photo credit.
